We are now into our second year and this is where we test the metal of our supporters. You know to be absolutely honest it is always easier to raise some cash when the emotion of the loss is still very fresh in the minds of family and friends, we all adjust and accommodate our personal sadness and learn to cope with it. However, I am delighted to tell you that we have already raised in excess of £7,700 in less than 4 months which not only puts us in a very strong position for the 2011 award winner of the James Beagley Memorial Scholarship but it has also cemented my belief that we can continue with the scholarship on an annual basis and help those talented young men follow their dream.
Some of you very generously contributed to my rather severe 'haircut' in August, we raised £1000 on the night and through some gentle persuasion we have added to that figure since.
For the 2011 'stunt', well you'll have to watch this space, no decisions have been reached but we have received a suggestion, another bike ride to raise funds! "Oh no, not another bike ride!" I hear you cry .....ah yes but this time it will be underwater!! Hmm bears thinking about? BUT whatever it may be you will all be encouraged to make a donation to the James Beagley Memorial Scholarship fund, no matter how small, every £ counts
